Samantha Mianskum
Samantha Mianskum is Ojibway from Nipissing First Nation. She has been beading for 26 years and has recently started painting. She has created numerous beaded regalia and art pieces. She is the creator of the “Pow Wow Trade’n’Shop” Facebook page where people can buy, sell or trade beadwork, pow wow regalia and art. The group has 23,000 members.
Amanda Bellefeuille
Amanda is Anishinaabe from Nipissing First Nation. She has paternal roots in Kahnawake, QC. She is an active member in the community and loves to help improve wellness and encourage interest in cultural arts. She is currently the School Wellness Lead at Nbisiing Secondary School where her work with the students focuses on mental health and addictions through a cultural lens. She is a traditional artist working primarily on sewing, beadwork and leather projects and has facilitated and co-facilitated several workshops.
Danette Restoule
Danette is Anishnabe from Dokis First Nation. She is a Social Worker and has worked as the Language Teacher at the local school. Currently she is working with a provincial organization in the area of Child Welfare as an elder advisor. She has crafted since she was a young girl and has learned from her family and community members. She has made numerous pieces for friends, family and community members.
